The Cascade Conference brought another strong opponent, Oregon Tech, for the Multnomah Lions. Lions were coming off a 3-2 loss against Southern Oregon University, while Oregon Tech came in tonight after defeating Warner Pacific 3-0.
The score remained close throughout all of the sets, as both teams played strong defensively and offensively, making it hard for either team to gain a large lead.
Multnomah was able to put some great rallies together in the first set to take the set at 23-25.
Oregon Tech came back fighting in the second set showing their ability to take advantage of some Multnomah Lions errors and some great serves. The set went back and forth for most of the set but the Owls were able to finely take the set at 25-22.
Ultimately, Oregon Tech Owls were the better team and were able to win both the third set and forth set to end the match.
Maya Blake led the Lions on offense with double digit kills, with
Ashley Allred and Jocelyn Porter contributing 5.
Molly Grace had double digit kills for the Owls, alongside Willow Jacobson and Savanna Sterck with 6 each.
Lauren Porter led all defenders with 20 digs. However, Kaley Whalen from Oregon Tech held her own with 13 digs.
The Multnomah Lions will host The Evergreen State College and Northwest University next weekend. The Lions continue to hunt for their first conference win of the season.
