EOU Victorious Over Multnomah

PORTLAND, Ore. - Multnomah was unable to find a way past the No. 3 Eastern Oregon Mountaineers tonight, as the Lions fell 3-0 to the visitors, losing 25-17, 25-18, and 25-9. Multnomah now moves to 2-19 in conference play with just one game remaining in the regular season, while EOU improves to 17-3.

"Eastern found ways to break us down tonight, but I'm proud of our resilience and the way that we made things difficult for them, especially in the second set," said head coach Nerisa Laban. "They [EOU] have a really talented group of girls, and we always love getting the opportunity to compete with top competition."

Multnomah battled their way through the first two sets, going toe-to-toe with their nationally ranked opposition. EOU was ultimately able to prevail, despite Multnomah's best efforts, capping off the night with a dominant 25-9 win in the final set.

Keira Vaughn led the way for the visitors offensively, recording 11 kills on the night. She was followed closely by Ashton Bales, Madison Morgan, and McKenzie Jonas, who each tallied seven kills of their own.

JahNay Jardine provided 11 kills for the Lions, while Lauren Porter supplied 12 digs on the night. Freshmen Zoe Schuele and Sophia Hernandez also had impressive outings despite the loss, tallying 27 assists between the two.

Multnomah will conclude the 2024-25 season and honor their seniors at home tomorrow as they take on College of Idaho at 4:00 pm.
