COLLEGE PLACE, WA-  Multnomah's Alaygza Portis' career high of 34 points edged Multnomah to control the game and defeat Walla Walla, 77-65, Friday afternoon in College Place, WA. The Lady Lions raced out to a 34-23 lead during the opening first two quarters of the match. 

Playing its first conference road game of the season, Multnomah improves to 3-3 in conference. Eight different Lady Lions scored points, and Multnomah outrebounded the Wolves, 41-38.

Game Summary 
First Quarter 

  • The Lady Lions trailed Walla Walla 14-11 by the end of the first quarter. Walla Walla's Carolina Montes and Jaliyah Casem aided by scorching 10 points collectively of their 14. Multnomah's Alaygza Portis started her heat for the afternoon with sinking 8 of her total 34 points for the game in just the first quarter alone.  

Second Quarter 

  • Multnomah tallied an impressive 23 second-quarter points. Walla Walla's first quarter lead not enough for the Lady Lions took a 34-23 advantage heading into the intermission. 

Third Quarter 

  • Both teams were impressive on the offensive end during the third quarter, with Multnomah and Walla Walla both managing 23 and 28 points apiece respectively. Walla Walla outshot Multnomah by a close 3.8% difference.  

Fourth Quarter 

  • A Clara Wiltgen three pointer opened the fourth-quarter's scoring for Walla Walla in the first 12 seconds of play. 

  • Kianna Ponce scored 7 points and 2 rebound in the game which then then scored squelched any hope of a Walla Walla comeback.
