PORTLAND, Ore. - Three Lions from the Multnomah women's basketball team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Junior guard
Makayla Torkornoo was one of Multnomah's top scorers during the 2024-25 season, shooting 92.3% from the free throw line while averaging 11.9 points per game. The Meridian, Idaho native carries a 4.00 grade point average (GPA) while studying Psychology, and started every game for the Lions of this past season.
Senior forward
Gracie Browning, who was one of just three returners from the 2024-23 Lions' squad, carries a 3.65 GPA while studying Exercise Science. Browning, who earned Offensive Player of the Week honors during the 2024-25 campaign, averaged 10.8 points per game and led Multnomah with 7.8 rebounds per game.
Sophomore guard
Avery Reiland, who carries a 3.82 GPA while studying Biology, rounds out the Academic All-District® nominees for Multnomah. Reiland was a key rotational player in Multnomah's lineup during the season, appearing in 26 contests while starting in seven. Reiland, along with Torkornoo and Browning were three of 28 student-athletes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference to achieve the Academic All-District® honor.
