CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) office announced the Women's Basketball All-Conference Team and Individual Award winners for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday, where Multnomah's own
Jersey Huerta was awarded Freshman of the Year and First-Team All-CCC recognitions following her impressive displays during what turned out to be the final season in program history for the Lions.

During what felt like a roller coaster of a year, Huerta was a constant within the women's basketball team, showing the CCC exactly what she's capable of after having to sit out the 2023-24 season with a season-ending injury. The freshman guard rightfully earned her Freshman of the Year title and spot on the All-CCC team, as she finished as the top scorer in the conference averaging 19.9 points per game, while also being the only student-athlete in the CCC to eclipse over 500 points scored during the 2024-25 season (543).
"I have no doubt in my mind that Jersey will go on to do great things," shared head coach Reid Takatsuka. "Her constant drive to be the best is what sets her apart from others. She was often the one who kept us in games this season, and I'm thankful that I was able to be her coach. She's a great teammate who leads by example on and off the court, and she's more than deserving of this recognition."
Despite her inexperience at the collegiate level and small stature, Huerta led by example all season, leading the Lions in points per game (19.9), steals (42), and assists (108), all while shooting 42.4% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range. The Kent, Washington native started in 25 contests played during the 2024-25 season, and was one of three Lions to appear in all 29 games. Huerta was awarded as the
CCC Offensive Player of the Week on one occasion, led the conference in minutes played (1075), and shot 86.5% from the free throw line on the year.
