Ranked Weekend on the Road

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SALEM/EUGENE, Ore. – Facing two of the toughest opponents in the conference this weekend, the Lions fell in 3 straight sets to both #5 Corban University and RV Bushnell University on Friday and Saturday night.

The Warriors offense on Friday was unstoppable – they read the Lions defense well and adapted to find the open shots. In all three sets, Corban jumped out to an early lead and did not look back. The final scores were 25-11, 25-11, and 25-12.

On Saturday the Lions faced Bushnell University – a team that swept the #5 Corban Warriors just a few days prior. Multnomah came out swinging to start the match – jumping out to a 9 to 5 lead after landing 7 kills. The Beacons caught back up and took the lead near the middle of the set and carried that momentum to the end to win by 5, 25-20.

Stepping up after the close call, Bushnell came into set two strong. They took the lead early and had an 11-point lead in the middle. The teams went point for point from there, finishing with the 11-point difference to the end. Set three again saw the Beacons play consistently, earning them the win with the final score of 25-14.

Despite facing the challenging teams, Multnomah still played with high energy and made amazing plays in every set.
