PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team will prepare for their final home weekend of Cascade Collegiate Conference games as they host Northwest Christian and Corban University.
MU's women's game against Northwest Christian will be played at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 11, in order for the women's team to participate in Night to Shine. The game against Corban will be played at the normal time on Saturday.
Last Week: The Lions had a tough road weekend, losing to RV Eastern Oregon 84-36 before falling at the College of Idaho 57-71.
Lexie Govert scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds in the loss to the Yotes.
By the Numbers: After a solid weekend by Govert, she has improved her numbers now averaging 8.3 points per game and just under four rebound her game.
Miranda Schmillen still leads in the team in points scored with an average of 9.4 points while
Lacie Kamper sits at 7.1 ppg and6.8 rebounds per game after tying an MU record with rebounds in a game with 14 against C of I.
As a team, the Lions rank fifth in the CCC with 3-point field goal defense, sixth in blocked shots, sixth in steals and fifth in offensive rebounds.
Previous Matchups:Northwest Christian: In their first meeting of the season, NCU had a dominate performance against MU, earning a 78-45 victory. The Beacons hit 12 three-pointers and had six players finish with nine or more points.
Corban: The Lions played one of their closest CCC games of the year at Corban earlier this year, losing 41-38. The Warriors used an 11-7 fourth quarter scoring advantage to secure a late lead to win the game. Kamper led MU with eight points and eight rebounds.
About Northwest Christian:-NCU currently sits in fourth place in the CCC standings with 16-9 overall record, going 11-5 in conference play.
-Already clinching a playoff spot, the Beacons will try to hold off for the fourth seed.
-Northwest Christian holds the third ranked defense in the conference, allowing only 57.2 points per game.
-They claim the fourth best scoring margin, winning by 8.6 points.
NCU is led by Niki Duncan who averages 12.6 points per game, ranked ninth in the CCC.
About Corban:-One spot behind NCU, the Warriors have a record of 14-11 and 9-7 in conference action.
-Corban is 6-7 on the road this season and have won seven of their last nine games.
-The Warriors rank fifth in offense (66.5 points) and sixth in defense, allowing 67 points per game.
-Corban is the fourth best rebound team in the conference, averaging 40.7 rebounds per game.
-Jade Lowery is the leading scorer for Corban with the third highest points average at 16.9.
