Women's Basketball Returns with Two Non-Conference Games

PORTLAND, Ore. – After a week off, the Multnomah University women's basketball team will be back in action this week facing a pair of NCAA Division III opponent's in George Fox University and Pacific University.
 
On Tuesday night, the Lions will travel to George Fox before playing host to Pacific University at home on Wednesday night.
 
MU is 0-3 to start there season, all three losses coming against the competitive Cal-Pac Conference. Multnomah's most recent loss came against University of California – Merced, 71-49, who finished undefeated in their conference last season (8-0).
 
Early into the season, senior guard Miranda Schmillen has been the most efficient playmaker for the Lions, averaging team highs in points per game (12) and in rebounds per game (six).
 
Following her are Milan Woods and Lacie Kamper, who both average nine points per game for the Lions, and Bethany George at 7.7 ppg. Woods has gone 10-of-22 from the field, Kamper adds 4.7 rebounds per contest and George is shooting .500 from the field.
 
As a team, MU has already seen improvement from last year's squad. The Lions are averaging more points per game compared to last year's mark at 58.3 ppg, while giving up the same number of points to their opponent's (73) as they did in the 2015-16 season.

-Tuesday marks the opening game for the Bruins, finishing last year 29-1 overall, going 16-0 in conference play
