PORTLAND, Ore. – With the end of the season only two weeks away, the Multnomah University volleyball team prepares for another match heavy week, playing three road contests starting on Tuesday at New Hope Christian College.
After that, the Lions return to Cascade Collegiate Conference action as they travel back to Eugene to play Northwest Christian on Friday followed by their final road match of the year at Corban on Saturday.
Last Week: MU registered another NCAA DIII win last Tuesday, defeating George Fox University in straight sets before falling to seventh-ranked Eastern Oregon in four sets and College of Idaho in three.
Player Highlights: Sophomore setter
Marissa Rhodes surpassed the 1,000-assist mark in her career at MU, totaling 1,006 assists in two seasons. She leads the team with 478 assists this season, reaching over 20 assists in nine matches.
About New Hope Christian:
-The Deacons are 3-11 this season, registering wins over Walla Walla, West Coast Baptist and Linfield JV
-This will be the third match these times have faced this season, MU has won the previous two in three sets
About Northwest Christian:
-The Beacons are battling for a playoff spot, tied with two other teams at 7-9 in CCC action
-NCU has struggled offensively, holding a .137 hitting percentage on the season, averaging just over 11 kills a set.
-Haley Damian averages the ninth most digs per set in the CCC at 3.51
About Corban:
-The Warriors are in second place in the CCC standings at 13-3, 17-5 overall and have already clinched a spot in the postseason tournament
-Corban registered a three set win over the Lions on the road earlier this season
-Setter Madison McLain leads the CCC with the best assist per set average at 11.2 while Amber Parker has the highest kill average at 4.21 per set
