Volleyball Prepares for Three Match Week

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball will see a busy week as they play three matches starting at home on Tuesday against Warner Pacific before making the trip south to face off against Oregon Tech on Friday and Southern Oregon on Saturday.
 
Last Week: The Lions (7-11, 2-9 CCC) finished the week with two wins, defeating New Hope Christian College in three sets followed by a 3-1 win over Cascade Collegiate Conference opponent Walla Walla University on the road. With Saturday's win over the Wolves, MU completed the season sweep of Walla Walla after winning in three sets at the start of the year.
 
Other Highlights: Sophomore Miranda Halverson has tallied a team high 180 kills so far this season. Her average of 2.86 kills per set ranks as the 10th highest average in the Cascade Conference.
 
Sophomore setter Marissa Rhodes ranks 10th in the conference in assists per set at 5.1, totaling 316 assists this season.

Multnomah vs. Warner Pacific: Tuesday, Oct. 11 @ 7 p.m.
About Warner Pacific:
-The Knights sit in the middle of the conference standings with a 6-5 CCC record, going 7-6 on the year
-Warner Pacific earned a win against the Lions in the first CCC match of the year, winning in three sets at home
-WPC holds the third best hitting percentage in the conference at .212 while giving up a hitting percentage of .201
-Warner Pacific if fourth in blocks per set, averaging 1.93 blocks
 
Multnomah at Oregon Tech: Friday, Oct. 14 @ 7 p.m.
About Oregon Tech:
-Oregon Tech is eighth in the CCC with a record of 8-10, going 4-8 in the CCC
-The Owls are holding their opponents to the fifth worst hitting percentage in the CCC at .176
-OIT averages the fourth most digs per set at 15.11
-Tech's Bella Foss has totaled 264 digs and has the fifth best average in the conference at 4.06 digs per set
 
Multnomah at Southern Oregon: Saturday, Oct. 15 @ 2 p.m.
About Southern Oregon:
-Southern Oregon is fifth in the conference standings with a 10-9 overall record, 7-5 CCC
-The Raiders average the fourth most assists per set at 11.31 assists
-Southern escaped Portland with a win over the Lions in their first meeting, winning in five sets
-Emma Gasman leads the Raiders offense with a hitting percentage of .304 while Lauren McGowne has tallied the second most assists at 681.
