PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team will come off of a short week, earning their second Cascade Conference win on Saturday against Walla Walla, and travel to cross town rival Warner Pacific on Tuesday night.
Last Week: The Lions completed the season sweep of Walla Walla, earning a 71-41 victory, becoming the first Multnomah team to reach two conference wins in school history. Four Lions recorded double figures in points with
Karissa Cox and
Sadie Jenks each hitting a high of 11 points.
By the Numbers: Miranda Schmillen leads the Lions in field goal percentage at 42.6 percent, totaling a team high 165 points through 16 games. Her average of 10.3 points per game ranks in the top 20 in the CCC.
Lexie Govert is second on the team in scoring at 8.2 points per game followed by
Lacie Kamper at 7.63 ppg. Kamper also adds an average of 7.1 rebounds per game which is tied for the fourth highest rebounding average in the CCC.
The Lions upped their scoring average to 55.8 points per game while the 30-point victory over the Wolves was the largest margin of victory for MU in a CCC game.
Previous Matchup: MU opened up their first ever CCC game against Warner Pacific back in December, a game in which the Knights won 60-53. Kamper led her team in production with 14 points and 11 rebounds while
Valerie Wakefield totaled 15 points.
About Warner Pacific:-The Knights enter the week with a 12-5 overall record, going 7-4 in the CCC.
-After starting out 10-1, Warner Pacific has lost four of their last six competitions.
-WPC ranks sixth in the CCC in points scored with 66.1 per game and hold their opponents to the fourth least amount of points at 58.8.
-The Knights hold the third highest field goal percentage at 73 percent.
-Warner is led by Lindsey Loe who averages 12.8 points per game along with 5.8 rebounds.
