PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University volleyball team will have a big challenge this weekend as they make the long trip south to take on eighth-ranked Southern Oregon on Friday and Oregon Tech on Saturday.
Coming into the weekend, the Lions (1-4, 0-4 CCC) are still looking for their first ever conference win as members of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
MU will need to be extremely efficient offensively to improve on its .154 hitting percentage and cut down on unforced errors to stay competitive.
By The Numbers: Leading the Lions in kills is sophomore
Patty Batoon with 64 total. Her average of four kills per set is the second highest average in the Cascade Conference. Freshman
Devyn Sigurdson leads in digs with 55, and is ninth in the CCC in average digs with 3.44.
Freshman setter
Marissa Rhodes has had a great start to her career, tallying 120 assists in just 16 sets. She is also a top-10 conference leader in assists per set, averaging 7.5 a set, good enough for eighth in the conference.
From The Coach: First year head coach
Jenna Bouey had this to say about her team, "I'm expecting a different team out on that court, for every point, every game. An all-out intensity that only comes from believing you can win. They've worked harder than ever this week and I think it will show."
