PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University women's basketball team will pause from Cascade Collegiate Conference action this week as they host NCAA Division III Linfield College on Saturday, Dec. 12 on Jim Skagen Court.
This marks the second game between these two teams, the first coming earlier in the year in an exhibition that Linfield won 87-67, led by Amantha Hood who tallied 21 points and 13 rebounds. For the Lions,
Sadie Jenks was the big scorer in that game with 14 points shooting of 4-of-9 from deep.
MU will enter the weekend with a 2-8 overall record after dropping three close conference games last week to open up CCC play.
The Lions are averaging 56.8 points so far this year while shooting 33.4 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from behind the arc. They rank fifth in the Cascade Conference in rebounds per game with 39.9 while their average of 14.3 offensive rebounds per game is the 38
th highest in the entire NAIA.
Senior forward
Lexie Govert has been the high scorer this season for the Lions, totaling 96 points with an average of 9.6 points per game. Following her is junior guard
Miranda Schmillen who has averaged a team high 10.3 points through seven games.
Forward
Lacie Kamper tallied two double-doubles this season while averaging 7.2 points per game and 8.1 rebounds to lead her team with 81 total rebounds. Kamper ranks 42
nd in the NAIA in defensive rebounds per game (5.8) and 47
th in the NAIA in total rebounds.
