Lions Host CCC Preview Meet

PORTLAND, Ore. - Multnomah's men's and women's cross country teams and Rose City Golf Course served as the host of the 2024 Cascade Collegiate Conference Preview Meet on Friday morning, in preparation for the 2024 CCC cross country championships which will take place on November 8th.

The day started off with the women's 6k race, where the College of Idaho took home the team title. The Yotes had four runners finish in the top 10, with Kahea Figueira leading the way with a runner-up finish, recording a time of 21:54.06. The top runner for Multnomah was senior Gabrielle Metzger, who finished the race in 11th place with a new PR of 23:28.88 to lead the Lions.

As a team, No. 6-ranked College of Idaho won the team race with a score of 21, finishing ahead of Portland (46), (RV) Eastern Oregon (66), Corban (111), Bushnell (135), and Walla Walla (174).

On the men's side, No. 5-ranked College of Idaho also took home the team title. The Yotes swept the top three places in the 8k race - first by Daniel Butler, second by Hayden Bostrom, and third by Elias Everist. Butler finished with a time of 24:32.67, followed by Bostrom with a PR of 24:40.04, and Everist in 24:42.44.

Senior Noa Miller was Multnomah's highest finisher, coming in 32nd place with a new PR and time of 26:29.21.

With six runners in the top 15, College of Idaho scored 31 points to take home the team title. Behind the Yotes was Portland with 33, No. 7 Eastern Oregon with 62, Lane CC with 134, Evergreen State with 138, and No. 22 Corban with 167.

Next up for both squads is a trip down to Salem, Oregon, as they'll take place in the Charles Bowles Invite on Saturday, October 5th.
