Nothing like experiencing the elements in the first outdoor meet of the season! We saw beautiful 60 degree temperatures and plenty of sunshine that would suddenly turn into 20+ MPH wind gusts and a steady stream of rain.
Nonetheless, MU Track & Field soldiered on with plenty of high quality performances across the board. This was a fun meet because it scored the competition so the top 8 places each earned points. (10 for 1st, 8 for 2nd, 6 for 3rd, 5 for 4th...all the way to 1 for 8th).
On the men's side, we finished 4
th overall out of 15+ teams competing with 45 points which was just awesome. That was only 13 points behind 3
rd (Linfield) and ahead of programs such as Willamette Univ., Corban, Bushnell and several NWAC community colleges. The men scored in 9 different events, established 4 new school records and achieved 6 CCC Qualifying Marks. Amazing start!

We only had two ladies compete today due to a number of issues including injuries but
DeAsia Wosachlo and
Dalila Rincan represented us well. Rincan, in her first meet since March of 2020 because of COVID, finished 9
th in the 200 with a personal best of 27.92, just shy of the school record. She also ran a personal best in the 100m finishing 12th. Wosachlo debuted strong in the 1500m and then took 10
th place in the 800m which is a very difficult double event to accomplish.
