SPOKANE, Wash. -- It was a great day for the Multnomah Lions track teams at the brand new 200m hydraulic banked indoor track facility called The Podium up in Spokane, Washington. It was the first ever meet contested in the state-of-the-art complex that is the 2022 host of the USATF Indoor Championships in late February. Â
The meet featured Division I programs such Boise State, Gonzaga, Oregon State, Washington, and Washington St. Several Division II/III schools competed along with NAIA Cascade Conference foes LC State and Eastern Oregon.Â
11 indoor school records went down as we competed in our first indoor competition in nearly 3 years.  For the women,
Shiloh Mounce continued her impressive fall campaign with two more school records in the 5K and 3K. She finished 3rd in the 5000m with a time of 17:56.14 which is the "A" Standard in the NAIA and qualifies her for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in early March in Brookings, South Dakota.
On the men's side, we were led by an outstanding 8th place finish (out of 28) by freshman Roderick Soto in the 400m in a school record performance of 50.74 seconds. Not to be outdone, freshman Daniel Dixon finished 16th overall in both the 60m and 200m dashes which each featured over 45 competitors with school records of 7.13 and 22.77 seconds, respectively. Â

The track season heads into winter break on a high note and will return to action in early January 2022.
