OREGON CITY, Ore. – Rachel Weros, the only Multnomah University women's golfer competing in the Warner Pacific College Invitational Tournament, stands 23
rd out of 40 finishers after the event's opening round that was completed Monday here at the Stonecreek Golf Course.
Weros carded an 18-hole score of 94 on the par 72, 5,808-yard course, 20 shots behind the two-over 74 of first-round leader Bethany Bullers of Corban University. Janelle Ferlan of the Oregon Institute of Technology is second with a 76.
In the team standings, Corban has a 15-stroke leader over Oregon Tech, 313 to 328. The College of Idaho is third at 333, followed by Walla Walla Community College at 375, Southwestern Oregon Community College at 387, Northwest Christian University at 389, and Walla Walla University at 435. Multnomah and host Warner Pacific have no team scores due to having less than four players.
The second and final round of the tournament concludes Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
