BEND, Ore. – Rachel Weros climbed one spot into a tie for 17
th and Ivory Linger remained 24
th for the Multnomah University Lions as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Golf Championships came to a close on a fair but windy Tuesday here at the Pronghorn Resort's Nicklaus Golf Course.
Weros finished with a score of 104-107=211 on the par-72, 5,814-yard course, while Linger posted a 123-119=242. A total of 25 players completed the two-day, 36-hole tournament.
Teammates Stephanie Koza (78-81=159) and Janelle Ferlan (80-79=159) of the Oregon Institute of Technology decided medalist honors with a one-hole playoff on the No. 10 hole, Koza making a par-4 while Ferlan fell with a bogey-5. Natalie Mullins of the College of Idaho was third with an 80-86=166, Jocelyn Dacuag of Corban University was fourth at 89-83=172, and Kylie Collom of Oregon Tech was fifth with a 90-87=177.
Oregon Tech won the event with a 334-339=673, earning the CCC regular season title as well and the league's automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament. Corban was second with a 346-360=706, the College of Idaho was third at 372-368=740, Northwest Christian University was fourth with a 416-399=815, and Walla Walla University was fifth at 463-454=917. Tournament host Multnomah and Warner Pacific University fielded incomplete teams and thus had no team scores.
The CCC Championships marked the end of the 2017-18 season for the Multnomah golfers.
