Lawson, who came in first place in the Women's 400 Meters (58.14) and second place in the Women's 200 Meters (26.02), recorded a new PR in each in race. "Yesenia has had a couple of really impressive performances over the last few weeks, and I know she'll be able to keep this momentum going as we head towards the end of the season," shared head coach Ben Barber. Lawson's performance in the 400 Meters helped her to qualify for this year's CCC Championships, after having qualified for the 200 Meters with her performances in the Willamette Invitational.
Elsewhere for the women,
DeAsia Wosachlo recorded a new PR with her tenth place finish in the Women's 5000 Meters (20:28.10), just shy of the conference qualifying mark.
For the men, senior
Noa Miller had a standout performance in the 1500 Meters, finishing in seventh with a new PR of 3:57.00, which was enough for the Houston, Texas native to book his spot in this year's CCC Championships.
Justin Almendarez rounded things out for the men, recording two new PRs while finishing 13th in the Men's 800 Meters (1:59.51), and 14th in the Men's 400 Meters (51.87).
Things start to pick up for the Lions next week, as both the men's and women's teams will be spread across the state competing in a trio of meets. Raasch will be the sole member competing in this year's CCC Multi-Events Championships, hosted by Oregon Tech, while the rest of the Lions will be attending the L&C Larry Byerly Invite, as well as the Oregon Open.
