KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Five student-athletes from Multnomah's track and field program were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday, the national office announced. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the spring sports who have excelled academically, including baseball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, track and field, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball and women's beach volleyball.
Representing the Lions as Spring Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes are men's track and field athletes Benjamin Behrens and
Justin Almendarez, as well as women's track and field athletes
DeAsia Wosachlo,
Gabrielle Metzger, and
Isabelle Raasch.
Including the fall and winter honorees, Multnomah has produced 36 Scholar-Athletes this year.
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
