SALEM, Ore. - With the halfway point in the track & field season approaching for the Multnomah men's and women's programs, the Lions secured two more Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) qualifiers and nine top ten finishes across multiple events at the Willamette Invitational, hosted by NCAA DII side, Willamette University.

The two new conference qualifying marks for the Lions came in the Women's 200 Meters and Women's 3000 Meter Steeplechase, as seniors
Yesenia Lawson (26.49) and
DeAsia Wosachlo (12:25.30) secured seventh and third place finishes, respectively, booking their spots in this year's CCC Championships.
Other top performances on the women's side came in the Women's 800 Meters, where senior
Gabrielle Metzger came in third place with a time of 2:28.21. Metzger and fellow senior
Analynne Klotz rounded out the weekend for the Lions in the Women's 1500 Meters, with the pair recording new PR's as Metzger finished fourth (4:52.22), followed closely by Klotz in fifth (4:54.58).
On the men's side, senior
Noa Miller clinched a win in the Men's 800 Meter race with a time of 1:57.15, which is a new season best for the Houston, Texas native. Miller finished about four seconds ahead of teammate
Justin Almendarez, who earned a fifth-place finish and season best of his own with a time of 2:01.43.
Willy Mabena, who has finished in the top five runners of each event at every meet he's competed in this season, continued his impressive form with two second place finishes in the Men's 100 Meters (10.91), and Men's 200 Meters (22.08).
The Lions will be back on the road next weekend at the Jenn Boyman Memorial, hosted by Lindfield University, before heading down to Klamath Falls, Oregon to take part in the CCC Multi-Event Championships.
