MOSCOW, Idaho - The Multnomah men's and women's track & field teams opened up the indoor season at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial last weekend. A pair of men competed in the indoor mile and the 800, while three members of the women's team competed in a series of track & field events to open up the 2025 season.

"We are a small group, but we are a mighty group," were the words shared by head coach Ben Barber. "I'm super proud of this group. It was really fun to be able to get out and compete at this meet, and I'm excited to see what's in store for us in the coming weeks."
Senior
Noa Miller had an excellent weekend on the track for the Lions, recording a PR in both the 800 and the mile. Miller came in eighth-place in the 800 at 1:54.79, nearly finishing outside of NAIA national qualifying pace in his first opportunity in 2025. The Houston native finished the weekend with a ninth-place finish in the men's mile, clocking a 4:18.78. Following Miller in the same races was junior
Fredrick Watkins in 24th in the 800 (2:00.87), and 24th in the mile (4:25.37).
For the women, senior
Gabrielle Metzger continued her impressive form following a successful fall cross country season, finishing in 38th in the women's mile with a PR of 5:29.28. Metzger and fellow senior
Kassidy Chamberlin both competed in the women's 800, with Metzger finishing in 18th (2:29.02) and Chamberlin coming in 26th (2:49.16). Chamberlin also competed in the women's triple jump, where she matched her PR with a mark of 10.00m. Finally, junior
Isabelle Raasch earned 2631 points in the women's pentathlon, nearly matching a school record for the Lions.
