Multnomah Indoor Track Team Excels at Spokane Invitational Opening Meet

The Spokane Invitational marked the opening meet for the Multnomah Indoor Track team, and it proved to be a remarkable day of achievements. The team saw several runners achieving personal records (PRs) for the season, showcasing their dedication and hard work.
 
One standout performance came from Frieder Fornasari-Banguera in the Men's 60-meter race, where he delivered an incredible run at 6.70, propelling him to the #1 spot in the NAIA rankings. Deron Roberts, who finished in fifth place with a time of 6.80 in the Men's 60-meter, was another notable accomplishment for the day. In addition to the remarkable performances in the Men's 60-meter, the Multnomah Indoor Track team continued to shine in the Men's 200 meters. Frieder Fornasari-Banguera secured an impressive second-place finish with a noteworthy time of 21.37, showcasing his versatility and speed on the track. The team's success extended with strong showings in the Men's 200 meters by Roderick Soto and Willy Mabena, both finishing in the top 8. This collective effort demonstrated the team's depth and competitiveness across various disciplines.
 
In the Men's Pole Vault, Trevor Leach displayed commendable skill, landing just outside the top 10 with a vault distance of 4.00 meters. Though narrowly missing the top ranks, Leach's performance added valuable points to the team's overall standing and highlighted his potential in the pole vault event.
 
In the Men's Weight Throw, the Multnomah Indoor Track team saw the debut of two promising freshmen, Matea Efeso and Zachariah Tofaeono-Faague. While they may not have achieved their desired placements, both athletes demonstrated commendable efforts and competitive spirit in their first collegiate meet.
 
The inclusion of Efeso and Zachariah in the Men's Weight Throw emphasized the team's commitment to nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for athletes to gain valuable experience at the collegiate level. In the women's events, Princess Brown showcased her prowess in the triple jump, achieving an impressive distance of 11.91 meters. This outstanding performance earned her the #1 spot in the NAIA rankings for the triple jump. Brittany Coleman showcased her skill with a jump of 11.41 meters, placing her among the top 10 competitors in the event. Her impressive performance, alongside Princess Browne's earlier success, highlighted the team's depth and competitiveness in the field events.
 
In the Women's 60 meters, Trinity Montgomery delivered a strong performance, finishing in eighth place with a notable time of 7.63. Her impressive showing in this event added valuable points to the team's overall performance at the Spokane Invitational.
 
The Women's Long Jump featured standout performances from Lillian Guzman and Princess Browne, both securing spots in the top 10. Lillian Guzman showcased her skill with a jump of 5.42 meters, while Princess Browne closely followed with a distance of 5.40 meters. Their achievements in the Women's Long Jump event underscored the team's depth in the field events and contributed significantly to the overall success of the Multnomah Indoor Track team at the meet.
