Track & Field's First Month Recap

In the world of Track & Field, the Lions have roared through March with an array of remarkable achievements. Over the course of four meets, these athletes have left their mark on the track, setting records and hitting impressive marks that speak to their dedication and talent.
 
Noa Miller kicked off the month with a bang, shattering the school record in the men's 800 meters at the Mike Fanilla Meet. Clocking in at an impressive 1:55.51, Miller showcased his speed and endurance, setting a new standard for excellence.
 
Not to be outdone, Roderick Soto blazed his way to a new school record in the 400 meters at The Oregon Preview, crossing the finish line in a lightning-fast 47.84. His performance electrified the crowd and solidified his status as a force to be reckoned with on the track.
 
The men's 4x100 relay team delivered a stunning performance at the Texas Relays, hitting an A-Standard mark for Nationals. Deron Roberts, Roderick Soto, Daniel Dixon, and Freider Banguera combined their speed and precision to achieve this impressive feat, signaling their readiness to compete at the highest level.
 
Trinity Montgomery continued to raise the bar for excellence, breaking her own school record in the 100-meter dash at the Bobcat Invitational. Her time of 11.76 not only showcased her speed and agility but also earned her a spot at the 2024 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships in Eugene in June, a testament to her talent and determination. Trinity Montgomery continues to rewrite the record books, not only breaking her own school record in the 100-meter dash but also claiming the top spot in the 200 meters. Her blazing speed earned her a school record time of 24.34 in the 200 meters, further solidifying her status as a standout sprinter.
 
The men's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team rose to the occasion, breaking the school record with a stellar performance. Justin Almendeaz, Noa Miller, Terrence Morris, and Alie Jalloh combined their strengths to achieve this remarkable feat, demonstrating their ability to excel in both individual and team events.
 
Finally, Brittany Coleman soared to new heights in the Women's Triple Jump, hitting the A-Standard for Nationals and ranking an impressive 4th in the country. Her achievement speaks to her skill and dedication, setting the stage for further success as the season progresses.
 
Meanwhile, Matea showcased his strength and skill in the field events, holding the school record in both the Discus and Shot Put. With a remarkable throw of 43.48 meters (142 feet 8 inches) in the Discus and 13.13 meters (43 feet 1 inch) in the Shot Put, Matea showcased as a dominant force in the throwing events.
 
With each meet, the Lions continue to push the boundaries of excellence, leaving a trail of records and accomplishments in their wake. As they look ahead to future competitions, one thing is clear: the roar of the Lions will echo throughout the world of Track & Field for seasons to come.
