Multnomah Athletics Earns Silver Ranking as Champions of Character Institution

Multnomah Athletics is proud to announce its recognition as a Silver Ranked Champions of Character® institution. This prestigious acknowledgment highlights our commitment to upholding the five core values that define the Champions of Character® program: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership. This recognition reflects our dedication to fostering a positive environment where character development is as important as athletic achievement.

Integrity: Leading with Purpose

At Multnomah, integrity is at the heart of our program. We emphasize the importance of knowing and doing what is right, even when faced with challenges. Our athletes and coaches are committed to setting high standards of behavior, demonstrating courage in standing up for what is just, and remaining honest and disciplined. We encourage our students to learn from their mistakes, see them as opportunities for growth, and continually strive to improve.

Respect: Embracing Diversity

Respect is a cornerstone of our athletic philosophy. We teach our students to treat others with dignity and understanding, regardless of their background or beliefs. Our athletes are encouraged to be considerate of others' rights and feelings, to be attentive and learn from coaches and officials, and to offer encouragement and appreciation to their peers. This respectful approach helps build a supportive and inclusive community within our programs.

Responsibility: Commitment to Excellence

Responsibility is vital in all aspects of life and sport. Multnomah Athletics instills a strong sense of responsibility in our students, urging them to embrace opportunities to contribute positively to the team and their community. Our athletes are taught to be helpful, conscientious, and accountable for their actions. We emphasize perseverance and reliability, guiding them to work through challenges and remain dedicated to their goals.

Sportsmanship: Competing with Honor

Sportsmanship is a value we hold in high regard. We encourage our athletes to bring their best to every competition, showing cooperation with teammates, opponents, and officials. Our focus is on competing fairly and graciously, savoring the challenges presented by strong competitors, and respecting the game and all its participants. We teach the importance of humility, celebrating achievements while sharing credit with others.

Servant Leadership: Serving the Greater Good

Servant leadership embodies our commitment to serving others and the common good. At Multnomah, we strive to empower our athletes, inspire them to raise their expectations, and highlight the interconnectedness of individual and team efforts. Our students are encouraged to be generous with their time and efforts and to approach their roles with energy and initiative. This leadership style promotes growth and success for both individuals and the team.

Achieving Silver Ranking as a Champions of Character® institution is a testament to our unwavering commitment to these core values. At Multnomah, we believe that developing strong character is essential to the holistic growth of our student-athletes and integral to our overall success. We are honored to be recognized and will continue to uphold these values in all aspects of our athletic programs.

Here's to celebrating our achievements and continuing to inspire excellence and integrity in everything we do!
