Lions Defeat the Owls in a Heated Game

Box Score Multnomah University Women's Soccer team played a heated game today against Oregon Tech. The intense heat didn't seem to bother the Lions as they defeated the owls in a 3-2 win.

The Oregon Tech Owls fought back and was able to land a goal in the 26th minute. Karly White had a great breakaway on the left side which left her 1-1 with the Lions goalkeeper and she put one in the back of the net to even the score.

Sarah Wong, a 5th year senior had a lot to show this year in the Conference after having to sit last year due to injury. She scored the advancing goal in the 32nd minute. She was able to find the sweet spot on the ball from a crossing pass from Sydney Holmes. Soon after this goal, the Owls found themselves a person down, after Kara Morris drew a foul which ended in a red card.

"I was very proud of the way the Lions played today. We have been working on the tactics for this season all throughout the preseason and it paid off today. Multnomah played hard even in the intense heat and their work showed in their win today" said Coach Dalon Parker when asked about how his team played today.

Oregon Tech came out strong after half, even with playing a man down. They had some great opportunities that were cut short until the 73rd minute when Brianna Lewis was able to connect with Miranda Valle to even the score to 2-2.
