Beacons Spoil Senior Day

PORTLAND, Ore. - Bushnell (5-10, 3-6 CCC) spoiled the senior day celebrations for Multnomah (5-6-4, 3-4-2 CCC), as the Lions fell 1-0 in a physical match against the visiting Beacons. Bushnell edged Multnomah 11-to-6 in total shots, while Multnomah committed 17 fouls on the day compared to Bushnell's seven.

"We weren't at our best today, and they made us pay for it," shared Head Coach Dalon Parker following the defeat. "Bushnell was good in possession and they found ways to play through us, and we didn't make the most of the chances we had to attack."

Bushnell started the game on the front foot, as they combined well and found pockets of space to play in between Multnomah's lines of defense. They eventually were able to break the deadlock with a goal from Emily Puita in the 23rd minute, after she was able to dance around a few defenders and fire her shot into the bottom left corner past the outstretched hands of Jennifer Alvillar.

Bushnell managed the rest of the game well, as they dictated play and continued to make things uncomfortable for the Lions. Multnomah had a few chances late in the game, but it was too little too late for the hosts, as they dropped points for the second day in a row. The result saw Bushnell jump up to 10th in the conference standings, while Multnomah dropped to 8th.

The Lions hit the road next weekend to take on Rocky Mountain College, before finishing the season at Eastern Oregon and the College of Idaho.
