The Lions opened the season with a win over NCAA Division 2 Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii. For 85 minutes, the team struggled to find the back of the net. Head Coach, Dalon Parker, kept telling the boys that it would eventually come and, in the 85th minute, it finally did.

Junior transfer Paul Einero was able to penetrate the Silverswords defense for an impressive goal. Einero had a total of 3 SOG for this game, this making his first goal of the 2023 season.

The win over a NCAA Division 2 school was a historic first for Multnomah University's soccer program. Coach Dalon Parker was quoted saying, "The men's program this year has come together with one goal in mind, winning! This is what we are focused on this year and will see what that focus and determination does for us."
