Former Lion Appiah Selected By Inter Miami In 2025 MLS Superdraft

MIAMI, Fla. - It's not every day that collegiate athletes get the opportunity to play their sport professionally, or in this case be teammates with one of the greatest soccer players this world has ever known. It was announced last Friday that after trading their 22nd overall pick in the 2025 MLS Superdraft, Inter Miami CF selected forward and former Multnomah Lion, Michael Appiah from Florida International University (Third round, 82nd overall pick).

"We're so excited for Michael - he has all the tools necessary to achieve great things in the future," shared head men's soccer coach Dalon Parker. "Although he was only a part of our squad for one year, Michael gave his all in everything he did here at Multnomah. We're proud to have been a part of his successful collegiate career, and we cannot wait to see all that he achieves going forward!"

Appiah started 17 of his 18 appearances for Multnomah during his sophomore season in 2022. In total, he recorded 17 goals and seven assists, and was subsequently named to the 2023 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American team. Following his season as a Lion, Appiah finished his collegiate career at NCAA DI Florida International University, where he made 21 appearances and scored four goals.
