Lions Battle Simpson University in Season Opener but Come Up Short

Box Score REDDING, Cal. – The Multnomah University women's soccer team opened its season tonight in a non-conference game against Simpson University, losing 0-5 on the road.

GAME SUMMARY:
  • Multnomah stayed aggressive against the Red Hawks and ended the game with 10 shots, 3 of which were on goal.
  • Mary Richardson, and Persia Anderson, each attempted a shot on goal in the first half and Brooklyn McFadden nearly put the Lions on the board with her shot on goal in the 32nd minute of play, but unfortunately it was blocked by Paige Reed.
  • Trisha Priest stayed active and energetic for the Lions and had 14 saves on the night.
  • For Simpson University, Sandy Lule finished the night with 2 goals, one in the 12th minute of play and the other in the 27th.
  • The Red Hawks maintained a balanced offensive attack as Paulina Diaz, Caroline Foreseth, and Haley Moebes each ended the night with a scored a goal of their own.
