MU Shows Promise but St. Katherine Takes the Victory

Box Score San Marcos, Cal. – Multnomah University showed promise early Friday night against St. Katherine College and scored their first goal of the season, but in the end the match was won by the Firebirds who collected six goals by three different players.

GAME SUMMARY:
  • St. Katherine started the game by capitalizing on early opportunities when Jimmy Thomas and Desmond Anderson scored in the 3rd and 10th minute of play.
  • The Lions would not roll over early and answered back when Matthew Dorn scored in the 12th minute of play.
  • St. Katherine would not slow down on offense and scored three more goals before the half, one by Steven Regla in the 16th minute and two by Desmond Anderson in the 22nd and 27th minute of play.
  • St. Katherine lead the Lions 1-5 at the half, but the Lions tightened up their defense and played much better in the final 45 minutes of play, giving up only one goal to Desmond Anderson in the 60th minute.
KEY PERFORMERS:
  • Matthew Dorn ended the night with Multnomah's only goal along with 3 shots on goal, and Aaron Galvin registered 1 shot on goal.
  • Ivan Morales finished the game with 4 saves between the posts.
 
COMING UP NEXT: The Lions final game of their three-game California road trip takes place on Saturday night in Aliso Viejo against the Soka University of America (1-0).
