Manuel Guillermo-Olivares made nine saves in goal for Multnomah University, but the College of Idaho was able to finally slip one past him in the 77
th minute as the host Coyotes edged the Lions 1-0 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference men's soccer match Friday afternoon here at Simplot Stadium.
Ahmet Huremovic converted a penalty kick following a Multnomah foul in the box for his fourth score of the season, and the 'Yote defense made it stand up over the final 13 minutes. C of I keeper Parker Billings made five saves, two after the 'Yotes had gone ahead, including a stop with 58 seconds left on a tying attempt by
Marcus Krause.
The 'Yotes outshot the Lions 24-12, with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Five players – Kraus,
Noe Favila,
Hayden Smedley,
Zack Woods and
DJ Madigan – had two shots apiece for Multnomah, while Ben Bechor led the College of Idaho with five attempts.
Multnomah is now 2-7 overall and 0-5 in the CCC, while the College of Idaho is 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
