Lions Open Conference Play at Home Against Oregon Tech and Southern

PORTLAND, Ore. – This weekend marks the opening of Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) action for the Multnomah University men's soccer team as they play host to Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon at Delta Park on Friday and Saturday.
 
The Lions (2-2) return home after a month on the road, most recently coming off a 2-1 loss to NCAA DIII Whitman College. Friday night starts the first of a four match home series for Multnomah who enters their second season as CCC members.
 
Offensively, MU has surpassed their previous two years already to this point, tallying seven goals in the first four games of the year. Sophomore Michael Kochis and freshman Fischer Rogers lead the team with two goals each. Kochis has added three assists which also ranks first on the team.
 
Freshman Noe Favila leads the team in shots taken with 11 while second year keeper Manny Guillermo has recorded 26 saves this season.

Multnomah vs. Oregon Tech: Friday, September 16 @ 6:30 p.m. – Delta Park
Oregon Tech:
-The Owls enter the weekend with a 3-1-1 record on the year
-OIT fell to Menlo College 1-0 early this week for their only loss of the season so far
-Oregon Tech has totaled 12 goals in six games so far while allowing only three
-The Owls were projected to finish 12th in the regular season standings according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll, coming off a 6-10-1 overall finish a season ago
 
Multnomah vs. Southern Oregon: Friday, September 17 @ 4 p.m. – Delta Park
Southern Oregon:
-The Raiders had a successful first year as a program, finishing with a 10-8 record in 2015
-Projected to finish eighth in the CCC standings, SOU holds a 2-1 record
-Southern has scored eight goals in three games while recording two shutouts
-Their only loss game against NCAA DII Saint Martin's, who defeating the Raiders 3-2
-SOU's only meeting with MU came in Ashland last year with the Raiders winning 6-0
