Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. - The Multnomah men's basketball team moved to 3-0 on the year with a hard-fought win at home tonight, coming out on top 74-69 over the visiting Park University-Gilbert Buccaneers.
"Really proud of how resilient we were tonight," head coach Tayo Gem shared following the win. "They [Park University] put us in some uncomfortable positions throughout the game, but we responded well in the second half and earned ourselves a hard-fought win."
Keilan Torkornoo and
Noah McCord led the way for Multnomah tonight, recording their first double-doubles as Lions. Torkornoo tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds, while McCord scored 17 points and pulled in 13 rebounds. The pair combined for 33 of Multnomah's 74 points in helping the Lions shoot 46.6% from the field.
Alileyon Ford was a bright spark off the bench for Multnomah, recording 11 points, two rebounds and three assists on the night.
Tanner Pate and Aidan Moreno led the way for Park tonight, with the pair combining for 28 points and 10 assists.
The Lions are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Rocklin, California for their first road game of the season against Jessup University at 7:00 pm.
