PORTLAND, Ore. - Following the completion of their final season as a part of the Multnomah men's basketball program,
Keilan Torkornoo and
Noah McCord were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
"Both Noah and Keilan have fulfilled the true definition of what it means to be a student-athlete and continue to be positive examples amongst their peers in the Multnomah community," shared head coach Tayo Gem. "Hard work and dedication were the driving forces for their successes on the court, with both Noah and Keilan bringing that same mindset and work ethic into the classroom. As a college coach, you search everywhere for student-athletes like Noah and Keilan!"
Torkornoo, who was Multnomah's top scorer during the 2024-25 season with 15.2 points per game, carries a 3.78 grade point average (GPA) while studying Business Administration. The sophomore forward was one of the top scorers in the CCC this past season, while averaging 7.3 rebounds per game en route to his First Team All-Conference nomination.
McCord, who played and started in every game for the Lions during the 2024-25 season, carries a 4.00 GPA while studying Business Administration. The junior out of Saratoga Springs, Utah, was a First Team All-Conference nominee and the CCC's Newcomer of the Year after leading the conference in steals (2.3/game) and offensive rebounds (4.4/game).
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 15, 2025. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
