Lions Travel for CCC Games Against Eastern and C of I

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team will head back on the road this weekend as they head north to rematch Eastern Oregon on Friday before taking on College of Idaho on Saturday.
 
Last Week: The Lions played arguably their best Cascade Conference game of the season, losing by only three points to Oregon Tech, 82-79. Blake Updike finished with 22 points while Ben Grandle hit 17 points, going 5-of-5 from downtown.
 
By the Numbers: Averaging 78.3 points per game, Updike leads the team and the Cascade Conference in scoring with an average of 22.3 points per contest. Following him is Thomas Simien with 12.5 points and seven rebounds while Jordan Paris adds 11 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Paris' rebounding average ranks fourth in the CCC.
 
Updike also leads the conference in three-point field goals made with 71 on the year while freshman Ben Grandle is second with 66 threes. Grandle is fourth on the team in points, averaging 10.9 points.
 
As a team, MU averages the fourth most rebounds in the conference with 38.7 rebounds per game.

Previous Matchups:
Eastern Oregon: The Lions fell to the Mountaineers in their first run at each other earlier in the season. MU played a tough game, but couldn't find enough offense to overcome a first half deficit, losing 86-73. Updike finished with 31 points while Paris added 16 points.
 
College of Idaho: C of I dominated in game one against the Lions, winning 94-59. Joey Nebeker led the way for the Yotes with 23 points while Updike and Jason Wyncoop had 14 and 12 points respectively for MU.
 
About Eastern Oregon:
-Eastern sits in the middle of the pack in the Conference standings with a record of 8-7, 13-12 overall.
-EOU averages the third most points per game with 83.1 points per game and allows the sixth least amount of points, holding their opponents to 78.1 points.
