MU Returns to CCC Play as They Prepare for Walla Walla

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team returns to action on Thursday after a week-long break as they to travel to fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference newcomer Walla Walla University.
 
Multnomah (3-7, 0-3 CCC), have lost their last four competitions, but they hope to turn that around against the Wolves who sit at 2-8, 0-2 in conference play.
 
The Lions hold the 20th ranked offense in the NAIA, averaging 88 points per game which also ranks as the top offense in the Cascade Conference. With an emphasis on the three-point shot, MU sits at number two in the NAIA in 3-pointers made per game at 13.9 and sixth in total threes made at 139.
 
Senior guard Blake Updike is MU's top scoring with 262 total points on the year. His average of 26.2 points per game is the highest in the Cascade Conference and ranks fourth in the NAIA
 
As a team, the Lions average the second most rebounds in the conference with 43.6 rebounds per game, led by Jordan Paris with 10.9 rebounds per game.
 
MU was unable to find a win last year against Walla Walla, losing three games to them including a 75-70 overtime loss on the road.
 
History will be made for one team as both are still searching for their first ever CCC victory.

-After starting the season 2-0, the Wolves have lost their last eight competitions.
-WWU holds a conference worst -22.1 scoring margin, as they score a low 68.4 points per game while giving up 90.6 ppg.
-Walla Walla ranks last in field goal percentage (3.76), rebounding margin (-6.3), and ranks second to last in turnover margin (4.56).
-The Wolves rank fifth in 3-pointers made per game at 9.3 and have a total of 84 threes.
