Box Score EUGENE, Ore. – The Multnomah University men's basketball team dominated in a non-conference game against New Hope Christian College of Tuesday night, winning 86-71 on the road for the second consecutive win.
The victory moves the Lions to 3-4 overall on the year as they look towards opening Cascade Collegiate Conference play next week.
Senior Guard
Blake Updike continued his offensive ways, tallying a team high 24 points with 17 coming in the first half of play. Following him was
Thomas Simien with 12 points and
Ezekiel Martin with 10 points.
As a team, the Lions totaled 37 rebounds and shot 52.4 percent from the field while hitting 15 three pointers in the game.
MU played one of their better defensive games of the season as well, holding the Deacons to a shooting percentage of 36.5 percent on the night.
The Lions will have one more exhibition game against Portland State on Saturday before opening up CCC play on Tuesday against Warner Pacific.
