Portland, Ore. | The Multnomah University men's basketball team defeated The Evergreen State College Geoducks 108-94 at home tonight. With this victory, the Lions improved their record to 14-8 overall and 10-7 in conference play.
"Props to Evergreen for hitting the ground running," shared head coach Tayo Gem. "Coach Quinn and I had positive energy going into the half only being down two. I'm glad we were able to open it up in the second half and secure another conference win."
After trailing 47-45 at halftime, Multnomah surged in the second half, outscoring Evergreen 63-47. Stellar shooting, fast-break opportunities, and relentless rebounding fueled the Lions' impressive offensive showing. Multnomah shot 51.4% from the field and drained 14 three-pointers.

Alileyon Ford: Ford contributed a standout 17 points, shooting 5-of-10 from the field, including three clutch three-pointers and perfect free-throw shooting (4-of-4). Â

Kadeem Nelson: Nelson chipped in 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds, showcasing strong play on both ends of the court. Â

The Lions dominated in the paint, scoring 48 points compared to Evergreen's 28. They also capitalized on turnovers, generating 16 points from Geoduck miscues and controlling the glass with 49 rebounds to Evergreen's 35.
Despite Evergreen's impressive shooting from beyond the arc (53.8%), the Geoducks could not match Multnomah's firepower. Jourdan Joseph led Evergreen with 30 points, including 12 free throws.
The Lions now shift their focus to Saturday's crucial matchup against Northwest University, tipping off at 5:00 PM. With a win, Multnomah will be one step closer to a conference playoff berth and achieve the most wins in a season in program history.
