PORTLAND, Ore. - With much anticipation having been built up leading into the start of the new Cascade Conference volleyball season, Multnomah was looking to start their season with a bang, but ultimately fell after four sets to the visiting Bushnell Beacons.
"This is an impressive Bushnell program, and I'm proud of how we pushed them and stayed in the game," shared first-year Head Coach Nerisa Laban. "I personally am glad to have this first conference game under my belt, and I'm excited to see how this group will grow over the course of the season."
Matty Lad and Leah Agost led the way offensively for Bushnell, tallying 23 kills on the night between the two. On the other hand,
Jade Ilaoa,
Myckayla Shaver and
JahNay Jardine combined for 33 kills, but it wasn't enough for the upset-minded Lions to overcome the traveling Beacons.
Next up for Multnomah is the second home conference game of the season, as they play host to Corban University tomorrow at 4:00 pm.
