Saints Cruise Past Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. - The offensive prowess of Carroll College was too much for the Lions of Multnomah, as the Saints would go on to win today's contest by a scoreline of 7-0. Carroll led in all offensive stats by the end of the game, recording 26 total shots, 23 of which were on target. Multnomah's goalkeepers Jennifer Alvillar and Javanae Jones were called into action on multiple occasions, recording 16 saves between the two, but it wasn't enough to keep the Saints quiet.

In what seemed to be an evenly-matched contest through much of the first half, Multnomah managed to keep Carroll from capitalizing on the numerous chances they created. However, the Saints would eventually break the deadlock in the 42nd minute, after Molly Molvig scored directly from a free kick just minutes before Carroll had a penalty saved by Alvillar. The Saints would grab a second before the halftime interval thanks to Emily Funseth, who would later go on to record two assists later in the match.

From then on it was all Carroll, who would go on to score an additional five goals in the second half, thanks to Delany Moczan, Deanna Lord, Ella Tollefson, and Sydney Coulter. "We put ourselves into a ton of uncomfortable situations today," shared Head Coach Dalon Parker following the defeat. "We strayed away from our tactics at times today, and they made us pay for it. We have to be more solid, and it starts tomorrow against Providence."

Up next for the Lions is another home contest, as they host the University of Providence on Saturday, September 28th.
