EUGENE, Ore. - Sydney Dethman led the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College in their dominant win over Multnomah tonight, as the Lions lost 47-68 and moved to 0-3 on the year.
"We were outmatched against some top competition tonight," shared head coach Reid Takatsuka following the loss. "They [Rocky Mountain] came out hot early in the game, and we weren't able to come up with any sort of response. I think some of our decision making throughout the game could have been better, but that's what games like tonight are for."
Rocky asserted their dominance early in the game, jumping to a 22-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. They kept their foot on the gas from there on out, preventing Multnomah from finding any sort of foothold in the game.
Paige Wasson and Gracee Lekvold also found themselves in double-digit scoring for Rocky tonight, tallying 15 and 14 points respectively, helping the Bears shoot 43.6% from the field.
Freshman guard
Jersey Huerta led the way for Multnomah with 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. The Lions shot 29.8% from the field after converting 17 of their 57 attempts from the floor.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow, as they host NCAA DIII side George Fox University at 3:00 pm.
