Multnomah Victorious Over Geoducks

PORTLAND, Ore. - Annika Rahf's free kick in the 11th minute proved to be the decider in Multnomah's game against The Evergreen State College today, as the Lions emerged victorious with a 1-0 win. With today's win, Multnomah now improves to 3-2-1 in conference play as they sit in 4th place in the Cascade Conference, just five points behind first-place College of Idaho.

"I'm glad we were able to walk away with a win today, but we didn't control the game the way we should have," shared Head Coach Dalon Parker. "They [Evergreen] made things really uncomfortable for us at times, and we weren't as disciplined as we should have been. Warner away next week is going to be a battle, so we have to make sure we make the right fixes before then."

Multnomah peppered Evergreen's goalkeeper for the entirety of the match, recording 14 shots, seven of which were on target. The Lions also held a 10-1 edge over the Geoducks in terms of corners on the day. Nanea Moke-Rabang was a constant threat for Multnomah going forward, but the back line of Evergreen was able to keep Multnomah from furthering their advantage. While it was a closely contested affair for the full 90 minutes, today's game was also a feisty one, with four yellow cards shown in total, as well as one red card to Multnomah's Ava Martins in the 78th minute.

The Lions will travel across town next Friday, as they take on local rivals Warner Pacific University at 12:00 pm.
