Lions Earn Draw Against Warriors

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Multnomah women's soccer team (5-5-4, 3-3-2 CCC) battled through the weather to a 0-0 draw against the visiting Corban Warriors (5-5-4, 2-3-3 CCC). The Lions edged the Warriors 18-to-16 in total shots, however Corban managed to put 10 shots on target to Multnomah's five.

"It's all about who wants it more - who has the greater desire to win," were the words of Head Coach Dalon Parker that echoed across Williford Field during today's Cascade Conference matchup. "Every moment counts, and we have to make the most of the opportunities that do come our way." Following today's result, the Lions now occupy 6th place in the conference standings, while Corban sits in 9th.

It was a physical match as Multnomah committed 14 fouls against Corbans' 12, with the Lions firing off seven corners to the Warriors five.

Both teams had their fair share of the ball in what was mostly an evenly-matched contest. The Lions made an offensive push late in the second game, but Corban's backline stood strong, securing their first clean sheet of the conference season. Jennifer Alvillar recorded another solid performance in goal for the Lions today, making 10 saves en route to her sixth clean sheet of the year.

Next up for Multnomah is their last home game of the season, as they host Bushnell University tomorrow at 12:00 pm.
