Eagles Victorious Over Lions

PORTLAND, Ore. - Despite a strong push late in the third set, Multnomah (1-18, 1-14 CCC) was unable to overcome the visiting Northwest University Eagles (9-13, 4-10), falling 16-25, 17-25, and 22-25 after three sets.

Kaitlyn Mickle and Aubree Dees led the way for the Eagles offensively, as the pair recorded 24 kills on the night. Allie Flynn and Ellie Van Berkum cleaned things up on the defensive side of the ball for Northwest, as the pair recorded 26 digs on the night.

Freshman Aleya Baptiste had an impressive night for the Lions despite the loss, leading the way with eight kills. Zoe Schuele and Sophia Hernandez chipped in with 16 assists between the two, while senior libero Lauren Porter recorded 19 digs, but their efforts were not enough to propel themselves past the visitors.

Next up for the Lions is a home matchup against The Evergreen State College tomorrow at 5:00 pm, before they hit the road to take on Lewis-Clark State College and Walla Walla University next weekend.
