Lions Snap Losing Streak

PORTLAND, Ore. - Multnomah (2-18, 2-14 CCC) snapped their losing streak in a five set thriller, winning 3-2 against The Evergreen State College (4-15, 4-11 CCC). The Lions started strongly and battled through adversity, but ultimately managed to earn their second win of the conference season.

Each set was a battle, with the Lions coming out on top 25-21 in Set 1. Set 2 was a different story, as each team exchanged blows late in the set, with Evergreen eventually finding the breakthrough to win the set 32-30. Multnomah came back in Set 3, holding a 10-to-9 edge in total kills over the Geoducks, which helped propel the Lions to a 25-14 win.

Evergreen answered back in Set 4, as they held the edge in kills with 17 to Multnomah's 13, leading to a tightly-contested 25-23 win for the visitors. Multnomah came out firing on all cylinders in the final set, holding a 10-to-5 edge in kills over Evergreen en route to a 15-11 win.

JahNay Jardine was immense for Multnomah on the offensive side of the ball, leading both teams with 23 kills on the night. Senior libero Lauren Porter came to the rescue multiple times for the Lions, recording 35 digs in last night's win.

The Lions will look to maintain this momentum as they travel to Lewis-Clark State College and Walla Walla University next weekend.
