Multnomah dropped two tough road games this weekend, as they lost 3-0 against both Corban and Bushnell University. With the losses, the Lions now move to 1-17 overall, with a 1-13 record in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.Â
"I think it's hard for our fans, and even the girls themselves to see how much they've grown this season, despite the losses we've suffered," shared Head Coach Nerisa Laban. "We have eight games left to show the conference, and the Multnomah community, what we are made of."
Friday night's contest against the No. 8-ranked Corban Warriors was a tough matchup for the Lions, as the Warriors took a three-set sweep over Multnomah, 25-14, 25-14, and 25-13.Â
JahNay Jardine led the team with five kills and had the only positive kill percentage of the rotation, while setter
Zoe Schuele dished out 13 assists and libero
Lauren Porter led both programs with 17 digs, representing nearly half of her entire team's total digs for the match.
Despite a tightly-contested first set, Multnomah was again swept on Saturday night by the (RV) Bushnell Beacons, 25-20, 25-15, and 25-17. Jardine again led the way offensively for the Lions with seven kills, followed closely by
Myckayla Shaver six kills of her own. Schuele and
Harmony Hunter combined for 21 assists on the night, but it wasn't enough to combat against their hosts.
The Lions look to right the ship at home next weekend, as they host Northwest University and The Evergreen State College next Friday and Saturday.
