The Multnomah Women's Basketball Team host at home with a match up against Lewis-Clark State College on January 7
th, 2023, at 4:00pm.
The Game:
The Multnomah Lions continue to host at home ready to play against Lewis-Clark State College on January 7
th, 2023, at 4:00pm in Lytle Gymnasium. The Lions were coming off a loss to Walla Walla and were looking to break the streak and upset Lewis-Clark State College. The game started out hot and both the Lions and Warriors were fighting back and forth for the lead. The Lions opened up by sinking some shots early that helped them build momentum in the first quarter, but once the Warriors picked up on their offensive plays, they were able to get a stop and started stealing the ball and blocking shots at the rim. Callie Stevens was the top scorer with 17 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal, her teammates; Ellie Sander got 15 points, 3 steals and 2 blocks and lastly Maddie Holm scored 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and 2 steals for Lewis-Clark State. The Warriors played heavy defense and were able to take control of the game during the second quarter and scored 29 points off turnovers and sunk 30 points from the paint. Multnomah tried to get a stop after halftime and sunk a couple 3-point shots that hyped up the bench, but the Warriors answered back each play and kept the lead for the rest of the game.
Shaila Mays was the leading scorer with 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal,
Dalila Rincan grabbed 8 points and 8 rebounds and Elisa Graham got 6 points and 5 rebounds for MU. The Warriors closed out the win over the Lions 69 to 46. Multnomah hits the road to play against The Evergreen State College on January 13
th, 2023, at 5:30pm.
