Lions Host Walla Walla to Start 2023

 
The Multnomah Women's Basketball Team host at home to start 2023 with their match up against Walla Walla on January 6th, 2023, at 12:00pm.

The Game:
The Multnomah Lions continue to host at home and start of 2023 with a matchup against Walla Walla on January 6th, 2023, at 12:00pm in Lytle Gymnasium. The Lions were ready for a fresh start to the new year and to bounce back after playing Oregon Tech on New Year's Eve. Both teams came out strong offensively while Walla Walla was scoring well in the paint, Multnomah was scoring heavily off turnovers and steals. The score between the Wolves and Lions stayed tied for majority of the game until the Wolves started to pull away in the fourth quarter by hitting three-point shots. Paulina Quintana was the top scorer for Walla Walla with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block, following close behind was her teammate Chariah Daniels boxing out Multnomah to get 14 rebounds and 15 points for the Wolves. For Multnomah, Dalila Rincan was the top scorer with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal, Kaela Stonebarger got 14 points and 1 rebound and Alaygza Portis scored 9 points, got 6 rebounds and 3 steals for MU. The Lions tried to get a stop on the Wolves in the final seconds of the game, but Walla Walla held on and ended the game 71 to 61. Multnomah stays home on January 7th, 2023, to play against Lewis-Clark State College at 4:00pm.
