The Multnomah Lions return home to host a highly anticipated matchup against Warner Pacific on January 17
th, 2023, at 7:30pm. The Lions were coming off a huge victory from Northwest University and wanted to keep their 4-game winning streak alive to turn to 5-game streak. Multnomah and Warner were fighting for the lead majority of the game, either leading by 2 points or tied scores. Both teams were aggressive on defensive and tried to take control of the game by getting a stop or sinking a three-pointer. The Knights scored 30 points in paint and 11 off turnovers and even made some great plays at the rim making it difficult for the Lions to respond with the score so close. Both teams pressured well, and Lions got momentum going into the second half from a dunk by
Tyrese Taylor that got the crowd riled up. Lions scored 32 points in the paint and got 19 points off turnovers. At the final minutes of the game Warner started to slowly take the lead and was making great plays at the by going down the open lane and drawing fouls at the rim to stop Multnomah's momentum. The Knights were able to seal to game after some shots at the free throw line and the Lions fell 92 to 87. The top scorers for Warner were Isaac Etter with 26 points, 2 steals and 2 rebounds and his teammate, Dakota Reber matched with 26 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and 1 steal, and lastly Maxwell Moses with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal.
